King's Head Theatre
Islington / Upper Street · North London
King's Head Theatre now operates from a purpose-built venue in Islington Square, rather than the room behind the historic Upper Street pub. Its programme champions LGBTQ+ voices and includes theatre and cabaret in intimate performance spaces. Visitors should follow the theatre's own walking directions through the square: the official site warns that the Google Maps pin is incorrect. Check the precise show and access arrangements before booking, as the performance spaces sit below street level.
Plan your visit
Book through the official venue/operator route. Check the exact auditorium, date, seating plan, age/content guidance, running time and ticket terms. Contact the venue before booking if specific seating or access arrangements are essential. Follow the official directions through the arches beside the old pub and into Islington Square, rather than relying on the unverified map pin. Use the theatre's official Getting Here page. From Upper Street facing the old King's Head pub, enter Islington Square through the arches and black gates on the right. The theatre is on the left through the red gates, opposite Bewliehill Cafe.
