Duchess Theatre

Covent Garden / Aldwych · Central London

The Duchess is a relatively intimate West End theatre on Catherine Street, just off Aldwych. Opened in 1929, it has built a reputation for comedy and is associated with The Play That Goes Wrong. Its smaller scale offers a different experience from the district’s very large musical houses. Visitors can combine a show with nearby Covent Garden, but should check current access arrangements carefully because the venue has a temporary equipment outage.

Plan your visit

Before buying, confirm that the temporary access arrangements suit every visitor. Then check the selected show’s official calendar, seat restrictions and age/content guidance; ticket prices and performance times vary.

Performance-led opening. Check your chosen event and arrival instructions; box-office hours are not general visitor hours.
