The Lanesborough Grill – Hyde Park Corner The Lanesborough Grill is the flagship restaurant of The Lanesborough hotel at Hyde Park Corner, and it’s about as grand as London dining gets. By day a glass dome fills the room with light. In the evening soft chandeliers take over, which makes it as good for a long, slow lunch as for a special-occasion dinner. The kitchen is run by Executive Chef Shay Cooper, who has won Michelin stars at The Bingham in Richmond and at The Goring. The food is modern British, built on seasonal produce from around the UK, and the menus change often. Some dishes are finished at your table. The signatures are coronation crab salad, Beef Wellington and Dover sole. Sunday lunch brings roast sirloin of Hereford beef and Salt Marsh lamb. There’s more than lunch and dinner. You can come for breakfast or for the Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea. On Fridays the Harry Brunt Trio plays jazz, and the head sommelier hosts wine dinners. Over the holidays there’s a Thanksgiving menu on 26 November, festive set menus, Christmas Day dining and a New Year’s Eve dinner.
